I see green algae in my pool? Can your company do
swimming pool algae removal in Tucson, Arizona?
What is the best way that you use to remove
swimming pool algae? Is there a difference between
green algae, yellow algae and black algae?
Pool Service Tucson can remove any algae that you might have
growing in your pool. If your pool only has a little bit of light
yellow or green algae and apart form that the water looks pretty
clear then we recommend that you allow us to remove algae by
the use of special commercial swimming pool chemical add ins.
This process will usually just take a few days, sometimes as long
as a week until the algae is gone.
Commonly algae growth in swimming pools is due to poor
circulation of water. This limits the chemicals that are added to
your pool from doing a good job keeping the pool algae free.
If your need the algae gone immediately or if your pool water is
dark green and the pool has a rather high level of algae in it
then we recommend that you allow us to drain your pool and
perform what is known as a green-to-clean or a chlorine bath. A
green to clean consists of us draining your swimming pool water
and cleaning the pool inside and plaster as best as we can using typical cleaning chemicals. A chlorine
bath is when we bust out the big guns and, after draining your swimming pool, apply a high concentrated
portion of liquid chlorine to your entire pool. We will then scrub the pool with our brushes and remove
the algae buildup with a combination of scrubbing and chlorine.
When we are done with this we will drain the excess chlorine from your pool and begin the refilling
process with water. This leaves you with a clean and algae free pool.
If the algae in your pool is black then we can't guarantee that even the chlorine bath with get rid of it.
Sometimes a chlorine bath will remove black algae and sometimes it will only remove it for a period of
time and then the algae will come back in exactly the same spot. If this is the case Pool Service Tucson
recommends that you have the plaster area that is showing black algae removed and replaced with new,
clean plaster.
